Local Restaurants and Takeaways come together and raise over £12000 for Turkey-Syria Earthquake victims
BCA Cambridgeshire member establishments came together after an emergency meeting of members was called on Thursday 9th February at Zara Restaurant in Shelford. All member establishments attending unanimously agreed to hold a fundraising night at their respective establishments on Monday 27th February 2023 and Tuesday 28th February 2023 for the Turkey-Syria earthquake victims.
“Something needed to be done, we felt it is our duty and responsibility to provide help for the victims, so we came together to arrange this fundraiser with our members” – Khaled Ahmed Secretary General of BCA Cambridgeshire and Co-owner of Zara Shelford, Great Shelford.
BCA Cambridgeshire coordinated the fundraising night and collected funds from all participants to ensure it goes towards the relief efforts. A total of £12066.37 was collected.
